Went to the dingy parts of Dejvice to play pool on a multi-stained table with Lucie last night. Every shot was a fluke, in fact it seemed a struggle not to pot a ball. It was ace. I won, obviously. The first game was over at the second shot, when Lucie potted the black. The second was a wipeout for me until I potted the white with the black. Then the third game the balls all just went in, but I got there first. Yay for me.
Tonight there may or may not be a party at Jess’s place. Well, it’s on for sure, but I may not be there. I’ve got to work tomorrow and…. oh, who am I kidding?

Nothing at all has been done in the last day, by me at least. That way I don’t spend any money.
Unless you call listening to Chris Morris GLR radio shows, watching Maid Marion and Her Merry Men and reading Reykjavik 101 that is. In that case I think you will find that I’ve been incredibly busy.

Another day, another 3 Septofort tablets and 1 Ibogin. The house is infested with Bohemian Toddlers right now, something I can only deal with when I’ve fully woken up to the possibilities of the day, around 1pm or so realistically.
Last night was really cool though and listen – I didn’t have a single drink (except water) all night. I just hung around and exited at 11.30, before it would’ve become necessary to start faking drunken-ness. Somehow a very cool night. Saw two great films, had some amazing soup and met a selection of traveling types, as per. But nice.
Low on money now though. But my schemes have it that I may be heading on down to Cesky Krumlov this weekend or the next. Something to look forward to.

Twenty-five feels remarkably like the tail-end of twenty-four. Big surprise there, then. I had a deliberately toned-down birthday. I was even considering not telling anyone. Making a big deal of it is a breeding ground for feeling shit. And besides, I am still somehow sick.
Then yesterday I went to The Globe and saw Gail do her human jukebox thing before she ships off to Finland for the world karaoke championships on Tuesday. Good luck to her. I got her to sing the theme from The Neverending Story.
Today is Jussi’s soup and Robert’s random DVD day, AKA Sunday. Todays soup is spinach. Sounds not too shabby.

It’s my birthday! Woo hoo!
So I’m free to complain about stuff.
Today I’m going to complain about my clothes. A certain somebody insisted on doing my washing for me, fantastic I thought. How wrong I was. The clothes were washed, left in the machine for a day, hung on the line just before it rained and left on a table downstairs to fester all night though the sun was out today and they’d have been fine. Yes, I’ve been alive for a quarter of a century and I smell absolutely revolting and want to break stuff.

Oh yeah. Also. Check this out people, the end is coming: http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/2004/07/21/monkey_israel040721.html

I did my laundry and hung my clothes out so ipso facto the downpour has begun.
I am 25 tomorrow. Yay and woo.

A few months back I sent off my CV to twenty or thirty language agencies and got not so much as a snifter of a job.
This week I haven’t sent off any CVs at all and have somehow got a job anyway. Where they got my number from I don’t know. All I know is that they called me and asked me to come to an interview, so I did. Except it wasn’t an interview, just the filling out of a form with my name, address and date of birth. And a job, apparently. They weren’t even curious to know if I had any qualifications or experience. This city….

So, the bad news is that my lungs have finally realised I’m not smoking after seven months or so and have taken it upon themselves to get some kind of chest infection. I just wish it would fuck off really. Don’t smoke, kids! Or you’ll be coughing up all kinds of shit seven months after you give up. I need a form called an E111 to get health insurance and my mum needs to get it stamped at the post office and sent over, blah, blah. Problems.
Good (maybe) is the intense heat, and the work. Can work ever be good? No. What the hell am I talking about? Just got an e-mail from Adam, says he is teaching English to foreign types too, but in Thailand. Says it’s fun. He’ll learn.

Additional – people I know, which one of these looks like me? I know the beer is cheesy by the way, but aint that the truth.
