Whoah whoah whoah whoah… yat da dat da da.

Hanna’s left me and Russ alone in the flat and gone off back to Finland. At least until damned Jacques returns from Corsica or wherever and Bea gets back (if she does at all). Sunday night was a bit heavy, I’m starting to wonder whether this steady constant beer drinking is good for me. When I arrived here I had to take a break every now and then. Now I just keep on going with it. Can’t stomach spirits like I used to though. Just beer. I say all this because I did some calculations and I’m drinking over 65 units a week, the recommended limit being 20. Eck.
Sunday, then, was just plain stupid. Out till 7.30 and not even in a club. Still, we needed to celebrate the going of a Blind Eye / Penthouse Suite fixture. Hi Hanna, if you are reading. Hope it’s not TOO cold.

Its been a pretty good few days since I last updated so let’s see…
First there was this party at a very expensive restaurant called Ambiente. Russ teaches the owner so had 2 tickets. We turned up in smart clothes as did everyone else except the owner who was wearing jeans and an old t-shirt. Classy. We got more free high quality italian food and wine than we knew what to do with, a truly exceptional blag. I think that blagging something you in no way deserve is one of the true pleasures of life and will add it to my interests when I finish writing this. There was also this guy there with a terrible blue suit and eighties hair (in a bad way) who approached us with free champagne and proceeded to tell us all about the brand, the vintage, the area for five minutes. He just wouldn’t go away. We watched him try to advertise this lousy plonk to every rich socialite that passed and considered putting vinegar in the bottle while he wasn’t looking but couldn’t be bothered. Then Blind Eye, more drinks, etc.
Um, then last night was the boat party. I’ve somehow never been on one before but this one was the best. Free fresh fruit and ciggies while we steamed up and down the Vlatva to tech-house with drummers, saxophone players, dancers and 200 people enjoying themselves a lot. Also Kat, if you are reading this – there was your evil twin there. Well, maybe not evil but looked exactly like you.
And that’s all. Orbith tonight. I am still alive.

fucking cool

Jus grabbin a minto update.
This week I have still been drinking a lot of alcohol. We’ve found a psych-rock / garage / northern soul club on 3 nights a week, which is damn sweet. Also Orbith is playing on Saturday which is sweet too. Erm, and I’m getting some food at an expensive restaurant in an hour or so courtesy of Russ, which is by far the sweetest.
Hanna is going on Tuesday which is sad but Gail may be moving in for a bit, which is cool.
You see how it works. Good, good, bad, good…. I like the averages round here.

I’m going to write this now before I pass out on the keyboard.
Our housemate Jacques went away for a month last week so last night we had a leaving party in his honour (such a shame he couldn’t make it and see us using his forbidden things, like the projector etc). We had foolishly expected a lot of people to come and so purchased a good large quantity of punch ingredients which the 8 people who turned up had to drink, not that it was a chore. Much much much drunkenness ensued.
I’m not going to talk about the latter part of the night.
For so many reasons.
I enjoyed myself though.
But today I feel like my brain is working at 50% capacity at best. Hope it recovers.
I am still able to just about hold my hand steady.

My LiveJournal Sitcom
weejay In The City (TNN, 11:00): weejay (Mickey Rourke)’s new friend alienates lussebulle (Anna Friel). Nearby, murakami (Warren Beatty) buys pen (Alec Guinness) a mouse. The week after, poranila_se (Bob Hoskins) hypnotizes kelvin101 (Billy Zane) but it doesn’t work. The next day, warp_records (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) nixes cardigansmile (Gwyneth Paltrow)’s picnic plans. At the same time, prague (Isabella Rossellini) paints rubysurprise (Olivia Newton-John)’s sandwich orange. Wackiness ensues.

So, it’s been a good weekend. Started friday with Karaoke again, I got up and sang Manfred Mann again, same old stuff. Fun though, and Chlesea’s birthday so we gave her some presents.
Saturday was time for a party up at Jan’s cottage in the countryside somewhere. We all sat around in the sun, played cards, ate barbeque klobasa, talked, generally had a really good time. Sunday was the return journey, then movie time at Clown & Bard followed by yesterday, which was Free Mondays at Roxy, so more jumping up and down.

Meanwhile This is a website with amusing pictures of politicians, like this one of Enoch Powell:

And this is where you can talk to Hitler. He’s a funny chap.

Last night I got told I was going to hell shortly before I was nearly mown down by a taxi. More on that later.
The day had started well. I watched a couple of old movies at home and then went down with Russ and Hanna to see Viktoria Žižkov playing their UEFA preliminary match with Zhenis Astana, some Kazakstani team that aren’t even in Europe. As we were waiting for the game to begin there was a torrential downpour that left me the only person without shelter and also soaking wet. It dried off, and so did I, during the game and I had some good beer and klobasa while watching Žižkov win easily. I was at the side of the pitch too, so probably on Czech national TV last night.
After the game we went home and played some cards. I lost so I had to buy beers when we got down to the Blind Eye. I played a lot of pinball & table football too, but eventually I found myself talking to a german arty girl called Karo for hours on end. She seemed really cool, and pretty too, with these deep black eyes… Towards the end of the night she showed me some of her art, explained by her as “a schoolgirl with a sword in one hand and the bible in the other going out to face the world.” I asked her if she was a Christian then. She said she was. Mmm. She’s a Christian and then some. She said that Hindus and homosexuals and ‘the makers of evil things’ will go to hell and that god created scorpions and wasps for the benefit of mankind. I was nice to her though, I didn’t tell her about my involvement in painting pentagrams on churches for example, but still she told me I am going to hell if I don’t ‘accept Jesus into my heart.’ Jesus fucking Christ.
I didn’t think there was any chance of anything happening with her by this point, so I belatedly went home.
As I stepped off the night bus I darted round the front of it to cross the road, not realising there was a taxi right next to it. I heard the screech of tires and saw the glare of the headlights, thought fast and jumped onto the pavement. The taxi missed me by inches. My slip on shoes remained in the middle of the road.
Maybe I am going to hell then, and sooner than expected.
But probably not, eh?

Got up bright and early this morning expecting some money.
But due to a misunderstanding (mine) I still have none.
Shit.
Still, I got the rest of the day free so I watched Willy Wonka with Hanna and Russ, then had a walk round Karlin. Don’t know why I haven’t been before, it’s beyond odd. Like a cross between a grid-layout Mediterranean plaza area and a wild west ghost town. The second element is due to the floods this time last year – they fixed the old town area but not Karlin. Its only now that they’re digging up the whole area, re-laying tram lines, etc, but there are still a lot of derelict buildings and even a few that have half fallen down. The only people there seem to be builders. Anyway, it was a strange hour.
And then I did some Creamfields food shopping.
Sorry if this message has been massively dull.

My ear is still blocked and I can’t hear through it at all. Seems that my balance has gone a little thanks to that too. Darn.
Meanwhile I now have a ticket for Creamfields so in a good mood despite the above medical problem. I will be jumping up and down in a field in less than a week.

I just remembered something I did last year… I was working for Nationwide and the managing director had an online chat…. see if you can guess which three questions are mine (I submitted about 50 or so) – http://www.nationwide.co.uk/NewsInformation/talkback/pw_talkback.htm

I must be quick here… not much money for internetting at the moment… generally pretty poor for this next month or so.
Bea and Hamish, the collective Uncle Travelling Matts of the scene have escaped to England, hopefully to come back at some point. Will see.
Meanwhile, back at the Blind Eye, I’m on the verge of having girl trouble though with any luck this can be averted. Also it is very hot and one of my ears popped and won’t pop back. Also there is a slightly worrying growth in the number of mosquitos flying around my room at night. I’d think I was in a tropical climate, not in the ceska republicka.
I have nothing else to say.
