More shop talk

Last phonecall before the weekend today was a woman who had been left by her husband with two disabled kids and horrific debts. She was sobbing down the phone to me for a quarter of an hour.
For some reason I’m not in a party mood any more.

    Yeah, you hear this a lot from people who work as operators. I think she just needed someone to talk to who would listen to her, which is why she discussed all her personal problems with you. It probably wont be the last time it happens either, so you have something to look forward to. :(
